Nylon GF (Glass-filled) 3D printing
Nylon GF is nylon reinforced with chopped glass fiber. It's far stiffer and stronger than plain nylon, holds its shape at much higher temperatures, and keeps nylon's resistance to oil and grease. It's the pick for structural brackets, housings, and load-bearing parts.

Nylon reinforced with chopped glass fiber — far stiffer and stronger than plain nylon, with high heat resistance, low creep, and great dimensional stability. The pick for structural brackets, gears, jigs, and load-bearing functional parts.
Properties
- Strength
- Very high, much stiffer than plain nylon
- Flexibility
- Low (rigid)
- Heat resistance
- Very high (about 175 to 205 °C under light load)
- Chemicals
- Resists oil, grease, and many solvents
- Moisture
- Absorbs some; gets tougher but less stiff in humid air
- Density
- 1.3 g/cm³
Best for
- Structural brackets, mounts, and housings
- Jigs and fixtures that must stay stiff and accurate
- Parts near engines, motors, or other heat
- Parts exposed to oil, grease, and many solvents
Consider something else for
- Living hinges and parts that bend often (plain Nylon or TPU flexes, Nylon GF is stiff)
- Display pieces and fine detail (PLA prints crisper for far less)
- The stiffest, lightest parts possible (carbon-fiber PPA-CF is stiffer)
